GOLD construction CARD SKILLED WORKER
This card is intended to recognise students enrolled in T-level and qualifying programmes that call for extended stints of top-notch work experience. It can also assist students in successfully applying for apprenticeships after getting valuable job experience.
The card indicates the holder is completing an unpaid internship in the building engineering services sector and grants them access to construction-controlled locations with their approved employer so they can acquire on-the-job training.
Card Requirements
- 16 years of age or older
- Enrollment in a training programme or further education qualification that is not categorised as "occupational competence" and calls for a minimum 30-day work placement The degree programme being pursued should be acknowledged as offering a route into construction and the built environment through enrollment in an approved apprenticeship programme, admission to an approved occupational competence programme like a N/SVQ, or eligibility for a card bearing the construction logo for Academically Qualified Persons (AQP).
- Initiatives for brief work experiences, like the two-week legal school curriculum requirement, are not included.
- Pass the BESA Academy Health and Safety Environment Test or another CITB test that is an exact match.
